Now I’m very far from home ![]()
I flew into Boston last week for some meetings and I’m staying in Manchester, NH. Mt Sunapee has the best brochure in my hotel lobby and is pretty close by so I headed up there this morning. When I arrived in Manchester it was pretty warm but forecast to turn cold last night and snow. Fortunately I’d taken the precaution of getting an SUV on rental so the snow didn’t stop me getting out.

The fresh snow must have been pretty welcome, it barely covered the ice and tree skiing was totally out of the question sadly. The Fischer RC Sport’s I’d rented handled the variable snow excellently though and were really enjoyable to ski on.

It was snowing on and off all day with a brutally cold wind, at one point I had to return to the car and put more clothes on it was so very cold. I think it even looks cold on the photographs ![]()

Having never skied here before what surprised me the most was how quiet it was, I was expecting weekend crowds and busy roads but it was really quite pleasant.
I managed to ski until 15:45 (15 Min’s before the last lift) before deciding it was too cold and heading back.
