2006 02 11 - Gstaad

For a change we parked round at St Stephan, mostly because I’d had Stöckli service my skis and after picking them up we were on the Zweisimmen side of Gstaad, my experience is that it’s impossible to park at Zweisimmen though. The car park at St Stephan is fun though, it’s at the end of a track where the icy ruts are 10 or 20cm deep and it’s really a field that hasn’t been cleared of snow.
I’d not realised how much snow had fallen at Gstaad, I’d thought it was pretty minimal but although it’s hardly waist deep powder, nor knee deep really but somewhere towards the top of the boots in places.
