Zweisimmen-Rinderberg-Rüwlispass-Türli-Stübleni-Leiterli-Lenk

The plan today was to leave from the train station at Zweisimmen and ride the lift up to Rinderberg, from there to climb the remaining distance to the summit of the the Rinderberg and head for Lenk. From the Rinderberg I headed for the Parwengesattel passing the top of the new ski lift from above St Stephan. After the Parwengesattel I leave the lift system of the Gstaad area behind and head into the space between Gstaad and Lenk.

Another walk at the Stockhorn, there seemed to be some sort of angling competition and the car park was packed. As we were taking a fairly short route round the ridges we had the time to try the restaurant at the top of the Stockhorn which turned out to be excellent.

We visited the chalet earlier in the week, it was a very wet day in Zinal with a severe weather warning throughout much of the Valais. Since the last time we there the scaffolding has been removed and the ground floor has been rendered externally.

This is a popular local tour around the Glacier de Tsanfleuron at Les Diablerets. Les Diablerets used to open for summer skiing but after going bankrupt a couple of years ago they no longer bother. The tour takes in three cantons, the Vaud, the Valais and Bern. Luckily I’d picked a pretty much perfect day for it.
