Moléson-sur-Gruyères

We decided to take a walk near Le Moléson taking in the ridge opposite the peak itself. Part of the reason I wanted to do this was to have a look at the where the old ski lift used to run at La Vudalla. It’s a good walk along the ridge with more climbing than I’d expected. The path is a little vague in places as well and you need a head for heights along the ridge.

I don’t really know when this lift stopped running, maybe around the time the funicular was installed I guess. But, during the winter there’s still plenty of people over this side of the hill, there’s a snow shoe route and any number of people using touring skis and skins to get to the top of the hill.
