Schwarzsee

Schwarzsee is a small ski station in the canton of Fribourg that I’ve mentioned a couple of times before :

This is the pre-alpes so the peaks are around 2000m high and it’s great terrain for walking.

Schwarzsee used to have two distinct ski areas, one of which has closed and looks rather forlorn with abandoned equipment. It’s a shame as the terrain looks like it might have been quite good. Oddly there’s a reasonably new chair lift and pylons lying dissembled nearby yet I don’t think there ever was a chair lift in this area. The chair actually looks newer than the one currently operation in the other part of the area.

Schwarzsee or Lac Noir in French means “Black Lake”, it’s one of Switzerland’s smallest lakes but it’s extreme picturesque.
