I was over at Estavayer-le-Lac for an 8am appointment this morning and took a camera with me hoping to catch some nice early morning light in the harbour and over Lake Neuchâtel. Estavayer-le-Lac is a pleasant little town much of which dates from the late 1500’s, it’s a small piece of the Fribourg canton but surrounded on three sides by the Vaud canton.

Jaunpass is a small ski station on the Jaun Pass in Bern, in winter it’s has three drag lifts only. We intended to do a quick tour around the Bäderhorn as we’d started out at around 2pm.

Leysin is an access point to a small range of gray limestone mountains where glacial erosion has created some cirques. The plan was to get a boost from Leysin at 1315m to the Berneuse at 2035m and take a tour round the “Tours”, the “Tours” being Tour d’Aï, Tour de Mayen and an ascent of the Tour de Famelon before dropping to Pierre du Moëllé and returning to Leysin.

A day trip to Zinal to look at progress on the chalet. The inside and outside rendering is now done and painted and most of the window frames are in. It’s looking visibly close to completion now. Read the rest of this entry »
