First thing this morning it was misty at home with signs the sun would break through, the local webcams seemed to confirm it might be a nice day. But, by the time we arrived at La Lecherette the cloud had rolled in and there was a light rain. The plan was to walk out of La Lecherette and climb up to the Monts Chevreuils. Monts Chevreuils is an abandoned ski station, the base is in Les Moulins on the Château-d’Œx/Bulle road. In fact it was part of the Château-d’Œx and on the same lift pass but not actually linked. It consisted of a single very long drag lift rising from 890m at Les Moulins to the summit of Monts Chevreuils at 1662m, the lift must have been quite a ride!
The top lifts of Château-d’Œx are visible in the above photograph on the far left side.

After stopping to take these photographs I put my camera away and the weather got worse with a strong wind driving in some rain. Climbing into the col below Monts Chevreuils we decided to skip the final ascent and head back towards the Lac de L’Hongrin and La Lecherette. Funnily enough, ours was the only car in the car park.
