Another day where the visibility was so poor that my camera didn’t make it out my pocket much. This photograph was taken looking down the black run into the village, I presume it has a name but I’m not very good with names really. Whatever it’s called, it’s quite nice to ski currently, a vast improvement on the vertical ice finish it’s had recently anyway.

There’s been a fair amount of snow during the week and the base is looking pretty good for the next few weeks. Right now the avalanche risk is running at 3/5 and some of the snow is wet and heavy so a lot of off-piste is out of question. Today the combe Durand wasn’t running which is a shame as it accesses some of favourite terrain in Zinal. The chamois was also closed and they were blasting in both areas on and off most of the day.
