I picked this easy route over the Meidpass as an introduction to ski touring for Jason who’s staying with us right now. It’s a very short and easy ascent and quite a reasonable descent.

Jason figures out how to attach the skins to the rather nice Movement Red Apple 74′s with Fritschi Freeride Plus bindings he’d rented from Val Sport in Grimentz and then gets going on the ascent.

After reaching the end of the first climb it’s a quick ski down some nice spring snow before booting it over the ridge of the Meidpass.

Finally, after meeting our other friends we had a great lunch at the restaurant of the Gîte du Prilett at the bottom of the Prilett piste, the best restaurant in the Val d’Anniviers in my opinion.
