Were those new skis ?

Another day in Grimentz, this time with Claire and Neil who have a a place in Zinal, I was a little behind them though as they’d caught the bus over earlier. In fact that was pretty much the motif for the day and I was a little behind for most of it! It was the shortest day yesterday so really right after lunch the light was none too special. But we managed to find some good snow in places and skied a few of my favourite places in Grimentz.
By coincidence we were all skiing on new skis, my Black Diamond Voodoos, Neil had some Monsters with Freerides on them and Claire had (I think) some B2’s with telemark bindings. Needless to say this just acts as a magnet for rocks and there were a few scrapes where the cover was a bit bare.
For a final run of the day Neil and I took a spin down one of the couloirs in the imaginatively named couloir sector, the snow was actually pretty good and it was quite a good run, sadly the light is failing now and it’s pretty hopeless trying to get a decent photograph.
